Soil: now there is a word! I think it can stand alone for a minute or two:-)
The whole poem tries to define it. I like the way you show us humans as unique yet always human. ... so is it a delusion that we are singular?
Also, soil is interesting because you could have said earth, but oh, no, you had to pick soil with its connotations of besmirching!
I also love the ''small voice."
